Russia Evraz to sell rails to Brazil, hopes for further expansion
MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- U.K. steel and mining giant Evraz, which operates mainly in Russia, has signed two rail supply contracts with Brazil, and plans to extend its presence in Latin America, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
Evraz will deliver 4,000 tonnes of high-wear-resistance rails of 60E1 European shape to TIISA Construction Company, and 300 tonnes of European 60E2 shape rails to BR Railparts.
The company has also signed a contract with major Brazilian trading company Cisa Trading, and it will ensure Evraz’ sales in the region and additional logistics and technical support to its clients there, the company quoted its Vice President for Sales Ilya Shirokobod as saying.
Rails will be supplied from Evraz’ West Siberian Metal Plant (ZSMK).
The company also plans to find new partners in other Latin American countries, as railways’ construction in the region is actively developing now and Evraz can provide the needed amount of production at a reasonable price, Joubert Lansoni da Silva, a consultant at America Latino Logisticà, said, as quoted by the company.
